Bernie Sanders will hold a pair of California rallies next week to promote a prescription drug price measure on Tuesday’s ballot, including an event at the state Capitol.
The 1:30 p.m. Monday rally will take place on the west steps of the Capitol, according to the sponsoring California Nurses Association. Before that, Sanders will rally in Los Angeles to drum up support for Proposition 61.
The measure would preclude California from spending more for prescription medications than the lowest price paid by the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs. It has generated more than $106 million in drug industry spending to help ensure its defeat.
